Marney has always felt a deep connection with flowers, seeking to reveal the essence and personality of every flower she paints. But Marney is also painting light. Watercolour, with its underlying glow and its clear, transparent colour, is the perfect medium to allow her to capture the almost tangible presence of light. A senior signature member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, Marney has won local, national and international awards, and has juried numerous exhibitions in Nanaimo and Victoria. She has taught art classes for over 15 years, and has been featured in three books and various magazines including International Artist and Pratique des Arts.
