“A Breath of Fresh Air” New Plein Air Works
Ken Faulks
April 6-18, 2013
Sensational Victoria based artist Ken Faulks, exclusively represented by the West End Gallery, debuts a A Breath of Fresh Air. Employing the methods and media popular with the Group of Seven, oil paint on small wood panels, Ken takes to painting outside, “en plein air”, like no other artist. Lush brushstrokes, a bold palette and a keen compositional sense have become synonymous with his style. New and established collectors are elated with the grand skies and familiar landscapes of southern Vancouver Island that Ken has so expertly rendered.
Join us for the opening reception Saturday April 6 with artist in attendance from 1-4pm.Tuesday, May 29, 2012

Noon to 5:00 PM
Ken Faulks, represented by Mercurio Gallery, is one of Victoria’s most gifted artists and it is with great pleasure that we announce the opening of his show “New Works” by Ken Faulks at the Coast Collective on Wednesday, May 15.
There will be almost 50 new works to savour and indulge in. Comprised of both plein air and studio work, this year's exhibition is all about oils in Ken's typical juicy, painterly style. Most of the works are on panel, with the odd canvas as well. The pieces come in a wide range of sizes from 8” x 10” plein air pieces up to a large 4’ x 6’ studio piece. "New Works" includes scenes from around lower Vancouver Island and the Victoria area, as well as from Ken's November 2011 painting trip to Alberta.
Meet the Artist Reception: Sat. May 19th, 2:00 – 5:00 pm.

Ken Faulks at Mercurio Gallery Jan. 1, 2010 !

Ken Faulks is well known for his luscious plein air landscape paintings, but he has recently been delving more deeply into abstraction, with both paint and digital media. The assured colour sense, keen observation of natural forms, and vigorous execution seen in Ken's figurative work is strongly evident in these abstract pieces.
Mercurio is excited to showcase a different aspect of this accomplished artist's work.
January 1 between 12 and 6pm at Mercurio Gallery 602 Courtney Street
