Malcolm's current works are large-scale oil or
acrylic seascapes characterized by varying levels of abstraction. Each
of his paintings is born of memory, as a rule he only paints from a
personal photo or sketch of a location of personal significance. These
West Coast seascapes have been his most introspective pieces to date.
Absolute authorship is crucial to the process. Malcolm abstracts his
work as a means of communicating the feeling of the location: the motion
of wind, the sound of the surf, the texture of fresh sand.
This exhibit will be up the month of March 2013 .
