The
Victoria Native Friendship Centre (VNFC), 231 Regina Ave.,
and Open Space invite you to join us for the second chapter of a
four-part exhibition series that shares a unique forty-year history of
urban Aboriginal art. This second exhibition, on view
Thursday, March 22, and Friday, March 23, honours the traditional time of New Beginnings on the Land (a.k.a. spring).
The story of urban Aboriginal art is the story of a community that is constantly changing. Curators
Leslie Mcgarry, culture and community liaison;
Shona Collison, team leader of mental health; and
Peter Morin
have selected a series of exhibitions that will showcase the diversity
of the VNFC collection. These gatherings of art and community share
traditional protocols and are organized following the seasons of the
Land.
