The theme of “Attachment” has inspired a challenging and creative
response from the most literal, to the emotional, to the highly
conceptual. Over 60 images capture the diversity and range of artistic
expression of fine art photography.
“Exploring the creative process through photography is our common
bond,” says artist Lis Bailly. “From traditional film and darkroom
printing techniques, to social documentary approaches, to full blown
digital abstraction, each photographer
offers a new and unique vision.”
The group from Victoria and
Vancouver Island communities include: Lis Bailly, Victoria Clarke,
Fraser Clark, Don Denton, Christopher Holt, Sam Lightman,
Tom McCabe, Suzanne Mir, Keith Neufeld, Francis Sullivan, Devin Tepleski and Will Winter.
This is the first exhibition by this active fine art photography group which
includes
emerging and professional photographers, designers and painters, whose
individual work is shown and collected both locally and nationally. The
group meets monthly at Luz Gallery for Photographic Arts to exchange
ideas, share
expertise and review portfolios.
The public is invited to the
Artists Opening at 7pm on Monday, April 2, 2012 at the McPherson
Playhouse, Pandora and Government.
The exhibition “Attachment”
runs from April 2 - May 27, 2012 and can be seen during performances or
by appointment at the Gallery at the MAC
