Lawren P. Harris at Winchester Gallery Modern

Lawren P. Harris was known for the highly precise style and disciplined execution of his war art, portraits and abstractions. His earliest influence was his father, Lawren S. Harris, a prominent member of the Group of Seven. Lawren P. Harris studied at the Boston Museum of fine Arts and at Central Technical School in Toronto, before becoming a teacher himself at the Northern Vocational School, Toronto, and at Trinity College School, Port Hope. Later, Harris joined the war effort and became an official war artist, working for some time alongside Charles Comfort in Italy.
