CALL FOR ARTISTS - INTEGRATE ARTS
FESTIVAL, AUGUST 2013.
The Integrate Art Society is currently
considering submissions from visual artists for its annual festival (formerly “Off
the Grid Art Crawl”) taking place in Victoria, BC on August 23th and
24th, 2013.
The mandate of the Integrate Art
Society is to enhance the provincial and national awareness of the thriving
arts community in Victoria, BC. Through the Integrate Arts Festival, IAS will
develop a unified creative collective, which is comprised of local artists,
museums, artist-run centres and public and commercial art galleries.
The Integrate Arts Festival will offer
an opening reception, a mass art crawl, independent artist exhibitions, indoor
and outdoor performances, daytime arts activities and a finale celebration.
These events will introduce participants to aspects of the community that they
were not previously aware of, including local galleries, theatre companies,
dance troupes, musical ensembles, maker spaces, and visual artists. It is an excellent opportunity to connect in a
celebratory way with the arts community in Victoria!
Preference will be given to artists
without major gallery representation and to work that is unique and two dimensional
(mixed media, collage, acrylics, oils, watercolour, photography are all
acceptable). Possible venues to consider include storefronts, pop-up galleries,
outdoor street and sidewalk areas. The IAS is not able to provide compensation
for time, travel, or other expenses. However, artists are able to sell work on
site upon agreement with venue owner. With assistance from IAS, artists are
responsible for the set-up and takedown of their work. To apply please send
