Paper Shell is a collection of modular origami works by Ramona Struthers. The pieces in Paper Shell celebrate handmade craft and explore the potential of paper as a structural material.
Ramona is interested in geometric structures and in the permutation of line, colour and text. The pieces in this show are made using pages from old books. In doing this, Ramona creates original juxtapositions of text; playfully questioning traditional definitions of literary interpretation.
This is Ramona's first showing of origami work. She has previously published poetry in Edmonton's Notebook Magazine. Other written work has previously appeared in Vancouver's Memewar magazine, and in the Paper Shell anthologies at UBC Okanagan. She has a Bachelor's Degree in English.
Opening Reception: October 27th, 7-10pm
Runs through to November 17th
