I’m Leslie Wiegand. Half of me was raised on a hobby-farm near Qualicum Beach, BC. That half runs naked through the alder and steals eggs from your chicken coop. The other half earned a BFA from the University of Victoria in 2003 with an honours in Visual Arts. It struggles with student loans and occasional neurotic insecurity.

I paint from photos and from my imagination, portraits of wildlife, and human nature as I see it. I integrate wood grain, flaws and marks in materials, even my own mistakes to make whimsical images that tell fearsome and outrageous stories. I do commissions and online collaborations.
