Barry Herring and his Caffenol images - October 2015
Coffee is a drink that is best shared with friends… preferably outside.
My triptych illustrates the actions to produce a great cup of coffee.
First, you need to grind beans with a heavy burr, then brew with
quality appurtenances, and finally enjoy the pleasure with your special
friends.
These Caffenol images that were ethically sourced on film,
and processed in a wet darkroom using Coffee Lab, Catalyst Espresso from the Second Crack, and
toned with Maxwell House, Original Roast to achieve a mellow result accenting
the bright, citrus finish.
Barry Herring is a Victoria lens-based visual artist, whose images
explore potentials within the traditions of photographic paper art. He produces black and white images in a
wet-darkroom, and also hand prints digital images, and creates paper
productions. The camera lens is the
initial source for his explorations.
