40 STUDENT SHOW AND SALE
The
Victoria College of Art, the oldest and largest art institution on
Vancouver
Island, celebrates its 40th year as the creative center of Vancouver
Island. The past 40 years has seen 5000 alumni and the college has
developed
from offering 4 basic courses to 90 different classes with 8 different
programs. As the college enters the digital age, with a flurry of
new
career certificates along with its prestigious 3 and 4 year diplomas, it
looks
forward to taking its primary place in the new arts and entertainment
economy.
This
April marks the 40th year-end student show and sale. This year, at
the
opening reception, you will be able to visit the past
and envision our
future. Our 19th century antique printing press will be in operation to
show you
how modern materials combine with ancient skills to produce the new.
Our
existing and ever-evolving animation/illustration program will
demonstrate
the new age of digital design arising from basic
classical
hands-on skills.
