"Art School Confidential" talk by Anthony Kiendl at Camosun College

Anthony Kiendl, Director, Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art (Winnipeg, MB) will speak about art schools and pedagogy in a contemporary art context. He will also discuss the educational turn in curating, schools by artists, and alternative models of art education.
Anthony Kiendl was the winner of the 2009 Hnatyshyn Foundation Visual Arts Award for Curatorial Excellence in Contemporary Art.  In 2007 he was Leverhulme Visiting Research Fellow at School of Arts, Middleex University, London. He was the Director of Visual Arts, Walter Phillips Gallery and the Banff International Curatorial Institute at The Banff Centre in Alberta from 2002 until 2006. In 2002, he served as Acting Director of the Dunlop Art Gallery, Regina Public Library in Saskatchewan where he was Curator since 1997. He is currently the instructor of a graduate theory seminar in the Architecture Department at the University of Manitoba.
