The Sooke Harbour House is a luxury boutique hotel on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, and features spa, fine dining, and of course an amazing selection of art throughout the hotel. It’s West Coast art in a stunning West Coast setting...
Opening reception: Sunday, June 6, 2010 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm . Refreshments are available.
Lisa Riehl lives in Sooke and paints impressionistic west coast landscapes. Her bold and colorful acrylic paintings of trees, mountains and beaches are inspired by her absolute love of nature and the fact that she lives in such a gorgeous part of the world. She is always spending time outside: hiking, surfing, and going on walks - “with her dog. Once home in her studio, Lisa paints the inspiring scenes around her, adding a bit more color and boldness that make up her own unique style.
Desiree Bond lives in Victoria and has spent much of the last two years painting en plein air (outdoors). She often paints with the Victoria-based group "Al Frescoes”, and many of her studio pieces are derived from that outdoor work. Desiree's recent work is a combination of conté line drawing and traditional acrylic painting on canvas.
