1. I am a self taught artist from White Rock BC. There are other artists in my family, so I've always been exposed to it. I intend to keep exploring....
2. My painting style and medium change to suit the subject. This approach creates a big diversity in my work. I've been doing mostly oils on canvas lately because it's a pretty versatile medium. My paintings usually have something to do with relationships and nature but not always.
3.Living artists that inspire me would be Travis Shilling, Robert Genn and Nick Lepard.
4. Deceased Artists that inspire me are Sargeant, Walt Disney and The Wyeths.
5. I think art should engage the viewer. That can be done with or without a political agenda. Its a big 'free for all' and I love that about it.
6. I paint because I have a deep urge to. It may have come from the first time I felt pride in what I had created.I take that feeling and mix it with the smells of oil I grew up with and the endless possibilities of a blank canvas. It's irresistible to me.
